In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy
Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
“Shaykh al-Islām is beloved to us, but the truth is more beloved to us than him. Except for the infallible (Prophet), the statements of everyone else may contain what is to be taken (accepted) as well as what is to be left (rejected).”

Note: By “Shaykh al-Islām,” what is meant is the author of Manāzil al-Sāʾirīn, Abū Ismāʿīl al-Harawī (رحمه الله).
